About Me
A little bit of History...
Abaiola Joy Jonathan
I grew up in Nigeria till the age of 11, when I moved to the UK. Growing up, I was always surrounded by art one way or another. Learning how to draw in school, going to my instrument practice after, painting with my aunty on the weekends and even using trash to make art. I must admit, I now realise how many times I put sports over my art and artistry. I have always been surrounded by art, but never prioritised it. But now, call it finding a new purpose, I’ve decided to go all in.
Working with people who inspire me genuinely excites me about what’s to come. Being around different perspectives, skills, and creative processes pushes me to grow, refine my voice, and stay curious. This chapter is about commitment, collaboration, and allowing creativity to take its place at the centre, rather than the background.
Jack of all Trades, Master of...
If I started to mention all the activities I took interest in — from academia to sports to arts — we would be here for a while. It never really bothered me until I realised that for everything artistic I could do, I could barely call myself an intermediate in half of them. For a long time, that felt like a flaw: a lack of focus, a failure to commit to just one path, a sense that depth was always just out of reach. I questioned whether curiosity was holding me back rather than moving me forward.
Over time, I began to see it differently. Moving between disciplines taught me how skills echo across spaces. Each interest informed the next, quietly building a broader understanding rather than a single narrow expertise. Now, I’m glad to have the opportunity to work with many people, not only to elevate my level, but to experience the world of creativity and artistry from multiple perspectives. This journey is less about mastery in one lane and more about growth through collaboration, exploration, and learning.

Now What?
This journey began with a mission: To Experience the World of Creativity & Artistry
What do you think artistry is?
"Artistry is a way of understanding and shaping experience rather than simply producing work. It’s the ability to recognise what matters in sound, image, movement, or form, and to make deliberate choices that give those elements clarity, structure, and impact. It shows up in how something is framed, paced, edited, or restrained just as much as in what is added. More than raw talent, artistry reflects attention and intent—the difference between making something and knowing why it works, why it holds, or why it communicates what it does. At its core, artistry is thoughtful expression: a process of translating perception into form in a way that others can engage with, interpret, and find meaning in."
